Chicago Callbacks-->Offers

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Sep 18, 2009 9:34 am

Has anyone heard anything from Chicago? It seems like they are taking really long this year. My first callback was nearly a month ago and I havent heard a peep. I had five total, with the last one being right after labor day.
T 10 top 5-10%

I only know of two:
Wildman has offered/rejected
Jenner has offered

Not sure if Wildman is doing this, but Jenner offered to its top picks and is keeping its second on hold. So if you haven't heard from them, you still have a chance.

Even the smaller boutiques are silent. At least the bigger firms were honest about the fact that they'd be taking a while.

I doubt Jenner had put out all of its first tier offers as of Friday morning. I am aware of strong candidates doing callbacks there through the end of the week at least. Perhaps they're on more of a rolling basis?

People who interviewed after me have offers, and yet I'm still not rejected. I am also a very strong candidate. I interpreted that as tiering, but who knows what it is. Maybe rolling offers and a ranked waitlist (or my rejection letter got lost in the mail).

Does anyone know when Sidley is giving out offers? Are they picking a date like the other big firms or just rolling?

This is the person from before. Maybe it's some combination? Tiering per school? As I said, I can't imagine they put out *all* their offers before their callbacks were over. Hard to find a hypothesis that fits all the facts...

By the way, how long from callback to offer for those who got offers?

I just received an email from them saying that they are still conducting interviews and we should hear back in a few weeks.

This whole process is nerve-wrecking.

I heard that even the summer associates who worked there last summer still have not heard about an offer to return or not. So, maybe they will not hire new people until they make decisions on their previous summer associates?

I know they have sent some rejections out...by email. Don't know about offers (I'm referring to SA for '10 not offers for 3L's)
