had a callback with the dc jones day office over a month ago. got an offer today.

Nope, they were vague about time lines and I didn't press it. I did email last week to ask what the status was -- perhaps that helped nudge them along?

Do you mind sharing how you phrased your email inquiry? I sent an email like that earlier to a firm that I was waiting on, and was promptly dinged the next day.

I'd be interested to know how you tactfully led them in the right direction. I'm going to have to send an inquiry about the decision timeline, and I have to decide whether to mention other offer(s) without sounding pushy/arrogant.
