This may be a n00b question but I own both a navy and a burgundy tie.

http://www.thetiebar.com/order_page.asp ... y%2Bpindot

http://www.thetiebar.com/order_page.asp ... ValueIds=1

And I'm planning on getting a navy and charcoal suit. Can you wear any of the four combinations together or are any of the 4 combos off limits? I.e. are all of the following suit and tie combinations OK for OCI purposes-

Navy Suit, Navy Tie
Navy Suit, Burgundy Tie
Charcoal Suit, Navy Tie
Charcoal Suit, Burgundy Tie

Navy on navy seems pretty drab (though certainly not unacceptable). Everything else is perfectly fine.

lol, I just bought those exact same two ties. I will be using the burgundy tie almost exclusively for interviews with a charcoal suit. I'll occasionally substitute the navy one in. +1 on the navy on navy not working. Other than that, you'll be set.

Dumb Q but is this suit charcoal? I ask because it looks charcoal but the drop down menu says "grey." Just wanted to confirm before I pull the trigger.

If so, is it OK for OCI? tyia

That's pretty similar to the one I got, except I went pleated trousers. It certainly looks charcoal. However, JAB usually offers "charcoal" as a color option. I'd be wary, but definitely looks right.

Yeah, that's what I thought! It's really confusing to me because you are right they offer "charcoal" as an option. Yet, when you search it on their website the only charcoal items that the search returns are charcoal slacks. The only option in the drop down menu for suits is "grey." Of which middle grey and that color which looks like charcoal to me shows up. ugg ....

Apologies if this has been asked already but I can't really find it via search. Does anyone know what kinds of pants are good for athletic builds? Everyone has slim fit shirts now but it's hard to find pants that have a good cut (eg bigger in the thighs/hips but not waist)... and simply "going bigger" on normal cuts doesn't work because it leaves you with a massively oversized waist (that looks ridiculous). There are some good Italian brands but Canali fits squarely into the "receive as gift" category and not "buy self" category.

I know it was brought up a couple pages ago, but does anybody here have experience ordering from Indochino. I'm coming from a tech-type work environment and haven't brought a suit for at least 5-6 years, so I'm hoping I can just buy one to get me through 1L and OCI and then worry about other ones a bit later and $379 sounds relatively reasonable without being too dirt cheap.

Could someone confirm that this is indeed a charcoal suit and thus OK for OCI even though it is listed as "grey" ?

A little light, but should do. Check a few posts back, someone posted a little darker of color you may like.

I got a suit from Jos A Bank that said "grey" and looked just like the suit in the picture and it was charcoal. I wore it for most of my interviews over this past year. It was in a different line (Traveler I think) but Traveler and signature are pretty close - I bet it is the exact same color. I don't know why JAB says grey some places and charcoal others but when I got the suit in the mail it was exactly the color I would expect a charcoal suit to be.

Is it OK to have a wool/silk suit blend (in navy/charcoal) like this:

http://www.josbank.com/menswear/shop/Pr ... 050_317717

Or does the fabric of the suit have to be 100% wool?

Check out suitsupply.com

Much better option than Joseph A. Bank

Also, some nice Drake's ties on sale now at mrporter.com

Thanks for the tip but I actually like the JAB fit because I have broad shoulders (all dem lat pulldowns). What I'm wondering though is for OCI do you have to get the 100% wool one or is it OK to get this one that is a "Imperial Wool/Silk Blend"???

http://www.josbank.com/menswear/shop/Pr ... 050_317717

The imperial wool/silk blend is actually a little bit more expensive and I think it looks nicer, but I just wanted to confirm before purchase because Pufer's A+ guide said suit material should be "wool."

I just got my first Blank Label shirt in. Nice quality fabric, stitching looks real tight and solid, no frayed ends. Fit was absolutely perfect and was exactly what I was looking for. It's hard for a dude with a small chest and larger beer gut to find something nice to wear that doesn't pull like crazy across the midsection. Goal is to obviously lose some more weight, but being that I need clothes now? Great option. I'll probably stick with them, too.

They ship from China and the shirt got here pretty quickly.

I really hate the look of black with navy. It is acceptable, but it'd be a last resort for me.

+1 Anyone know if that suit would be fine for OCI even though it's a wool-silk blend?

It looks better than the other JAB signature all merino wool ones IMO.

Do not spend $1,000 on a JAB suit, please.

lol of course not. I saw it down to $299 a few days ago. If it drops that low again, is it OK to get - even though it's not the all merino wool one?
