There are 1818s that are currently $660 on sale.

Shoul I try them on then buy online... Or I could go with a $129 Cole Haan Lennox Hill Split Toe...
Show them the price online.

This has probably been rehashed over and over but,

What brands and lines should I be looking out for?

Budget is 500-700 before tailoring.

Most important Do and donts?
You could get Suitsupply MTM for 699.

Does anybody have ideas on general clothing/other items that I should pick up at Nordstroms when I go to the sale today? Other than PEs, of course.

I probably need a belt. And maybe some non dress clothes. What are some good deals?

Get an AE belt (also on sale). Great quality and it's made with the same leather as the shoes, so it will match perfectly.

Hi,

I have an upcoming interview with Quinn NYC and have not yet sorted out my OCI wardrobe.

I would appreciate specific recommendations (i.e. buy Park Aves) as well as general advice about what to wear when interviewing with Quinn (or other firms that are very serious about having a "no dress code" policy).

Thanks!

Your interview clothing doesn't change based on the firm. Be on your suit game every single time.

Quinn specifically says to wear business casual.

Thats my issue. My instinct is just wear a suit...but i dont want to to cut against their instruction...

I mean if they SPECIFICALLY tell you to do biz casual, then I don't see any justification for not following their instruction

In that case, nice slacks (suit slacks are ok if there's no pattern) or khakis (need to be in excellent shape -- fairly new), dress shirt with no tie, nice sports coat (ed. Contrasting with slacks, but not clashing... or navy blazer if your slacks are not navy).

I've never worn one of these Donahue shirts, but $89 seems way steep to be spend on a dress shirt on sale unless you're just flush with cash. With BB and CT shirts going for sub-$50, and with Nordstrom's house brand shirts also on big discount, I think your average debt-conscious law student looking to build his wardrobe can do better.

I think black shoes look horrible with a navy suit, and also with a charcoal suit, though to a lesser extent. Brown looks extremely better in my opinion. Is it expected in legal interviews that you wear black shoes? I don't know if I can bring myself to rock black with navy.

I agree that black looks bad with a dark navy. But I did it anyway for OCI. I don't know if it's expected, but I would advise it. On the other hand, if black doesn't look good with charcoal, I don't know what it looks good with.

I've never thought black looks bad with navy either. But yeah, if not charcoal then... what?

Check out some pictures of charcoal suit with walnut or a brighter brown shoe. It looks slick.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
