From the SEO website:
"Q: I've been deferred to the next round of interviews. Does this affect my chances of acceptance into the program?
A: SEO accepts students on a rolling basis. Chances are higher the earlier you interview so it is advisable to interview as early as possible and not change interview dates if at all possible."

can anyone whose already had an interview offer some friendly advice on what type of questions are asked? And exactly what are they looking for in the interview?
I'm having mine this week and don't know what to expect
Thanks in advance

How long between faxing the seat deposit confirmation and hearing back?

How many people have thought about spontaneously choosing a school to hear back from Seo..

I have a very compelling reason to go with the school I am...but I'm sending in the seat deposit a whole heck of a lot faster than I would (after leisurely checking wandering around campus a few times going to all the ASWs and such) because of SEO for sure. But ultimately, I sad down and worked out the game theory...my decision is really REALLY unlikely to change....

Submitted my Columbia and Penn acceptances to SEO last week. Still haven't been invited for an interview. (Submitted my app back in December).

yeah, Stanford. Seriously... I think the exposure, experience and networking opportunities are amazing, but a paycheck would be soooo nice right now.

I don't know anything that beats this program. Realistically you could coast through law school if you kill your internship. I mean of course do decent but if you get asked to return for 1L summer then your pretty much set.

+1 to the above.
Honestly I'd do this for free. Getting paid (ridiculously handsomely) is pretty much the most awesome bonus ever.

Just now realizing only 4 SEO participants in 2009 went to NYU. Whoa. More went to Stanford and UPenn. Seems like SEO prefers Penn to NYU... Kind of surprising. I hope that's self-selection and not indicative of SEO's actual preference.

Could be a lot of factors impacting who came from where (though I'm sure that where you ultimately go kinda matters). I get the sense that based on the prior numbers 4-5 students for a school isn't terribly bad.
It'd be nice to know how inclusive/unflawed those numbers were though, seeing as we're so closely scrutinizing them. I think an ex-SEO participant did them, but, you know, was it a formal count or just trying to summarize based on memory or what...

I think everyone makes a way to big a deal about the schools people go to, obviously CLS and Harvard are going to have strong showings. I think less minorities go to stanford, chicago, and yale/ and or self select out. Also what if some people just interview better? I don't think the SEO people go oh man he goes to Penn and we like that better then Yale (penn has had more then yale the last couple of years in the program) It just so happened that penn had a bunch of ringers that year. Obviously I believe there is a preference for CLS and Harvard, possibly NYU because of the ties with all the NY firms, aside from that I think its a crap shoot.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
