P-Side Employment Law - Options?

Post by Rooks » Sat Mar 30, 2019 9:35 pm

Current t14/t20 law student who is considering a career as a plaintiff employment attorney in SF/LA/SD. Any info on pay or how it's structured later with bonuses based on contingency fees? how much experience is needed before I'd be able to get a piece of the pie? I'm sure it's based on the firm, but think 10-20 attorneys. How difficult would it be to open up my own plaintiff employment firm once I have solid experience?

Side question: i may want to go in-house/defense later should an opportunity arise with a biglaw firm, but I've heard mixed things regarding the likelihood of that door ever being open later down the line. Anyone have experience with this?

Much appreciated.
