AUSA Track/Best departments to practice in?

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Feb 26, 2018 11:06 am

For somebody aiming at AUSA in a competitive district, such as EDNY/SDNY, and maybe looking to focus on financial crimes, what are some good litigation departments to try to focus on while in private practice?

Can attorneys from experience in the following fields give their input on the pros/cons of them? Antitrust, Securities Litigation, White-Collar crime defense, general/complex lit?

Is it better to specialize in securities lit/white collar crime defense for AUSA financial crimes? What if you're not sure if you want to focus on financial crime down the road at the AUSA, would it be better to just do general lit at that point?

Just trying to see what departments to focus my sights on for my upcoming summer associate program.
