Hi, guys! So I didn't enjoy my 2L summer and decided to take a shot at 3L OCI. I was thankfully able to land the position that I wanted and now I am curious as to whether my new firm will ask for a transcript. They already have my 1L-2L grades.
The only term my offer letter states is: "employment is subject to your passage of the New York State Bar Examination and admission to the practice of law in the State of New York."
I have not slacked off, but a final I recently took has me concerned!
Edit: I know that most firms ask, but seeing as how this situation is a bit different and the offer letter is specific, I'd appreciate your input!

Most firms do not ask. Just pass the NY Bar, and you're all set.Anonymous User wrote:Hi, guys! So I didn't enjoy my 2L summer and decided to take a shot at 3L OCI. If a firm wants 3L grades, they would have placed that information in the offer letter. Those firms are few and far between.

My NYC Big Law firm asks for a transcript, solely to make sure incoming associates have graduated. We don’t look at grades.

I think this is somewhat common. It would be pretty weird for a firm to revoke an offer based on crappy but passing 3L grades.EliotAlderson wrote:My NYC Big Law firm asks for a transcript, solely to make sure incoming associates have graduated. We don’t look at grades.
