Only one poster has suggested this. I think (I hope) that OP realizes that lying on the application is a bad idea.

I decided it is best not to apply at this time.

My bad, I was skimming the thread on my phone and wasn't paying much attention to who said what after I saw the suggestion to lie. Mostly just wanted to emphasize what a terrible idea that is, in the event s/he was on the fence. I know it isn't the first time I've seen that kind of a suggestion in similar threads here, though I haven't thrown in my $0.02 on it before.

Sounds like that won't be an issue for OP and I was glad to hear it.

I have a similar question, so I didn't want to make a new thread about it.

I also smoke pot somewhat regularly, and was contemplating applying for the Navy JAG summer internship program. I'd be willing to quit for it, but would disclosing my drug use on the application pretty much make me an automatic denial?

You should read through the Military Law thread, because I'm pretty sure they address that issue. From what I've read there, yes, it's an auto denial (but I think there are also examples of people getting told by their recruiters not to answer that question honestly? I got the impression that might be because the Navy doesn't allow any past use at all, while the feds are okay with past use if it's long enough ago).
