Accepted a full-time offer from my 2L SA firm. If I 'trade up,' will my new firm request a conflicts list? I am a bit worried about almost getting an offer during 3L, and then asking my current firm, who I've accepted an offer with, for a conflicts sheet, since it would be obvious I was trying to switch.
Is it typical for firms to seek conflict checks on candidates that have only worked as a summer associate?

Yes. You were probably even asked for a conflicts list before you did your 2L SA.

I was not. I am worried about this firm considering me, and asking for a conflicts list, then not giving me an offer. Then, my current SA firm will know I don't want to be there. Any help on how to proceed?SmokeytheBear wrote:Yes. You were probably even asked for a conflicts list before you did your 2L SA.

Did any of the firms you're interviewing with ask you to fill a conflicts sheet already?
Conflict sheets are typically given after you accept a position. At that point, you shouldn't be worried about your current firm finding out.

This was the answer I was seeking. Thank you -- I did not know if they are done before an offer or after.mohdban wrote:Did any of the firms you're interviewing with ask you to fill a conflicts sheet already?
