Matter Origination Credit -Associate

Does anyone know what, if any, practical effect there is to receiving matter origination credit as an associate at a V20 type firm?

That's what I figured and seems stupid. Sort of want to tell the partner to take all he assigned me and just give me 50% of the marginal effect on draw.
