Is it too late to mass email NY firms?
Struck out at OCI. 3.3x at MVP. If it's too late for NY, which markets should I target?

Have you literally struck out or just not heard yet? It'd be awfully early to have gotten nothing but rejections so far.
That said, it's not too late. Get your materials together tonight, spend the next few weeks emailing every firm you can find. And try looking at other markets, where hiring is slower.

Not too late yet. Massmail as much as possible this weekend, leave no firm untouched. You should be able to find something still. MM other markets too. And meet with your CDO/CSO first thing this week. It is only early August, hiring will continue thru the start of September and maybe longer for some firms.

Smaller markets and midwestern markets tend to move a bit slower. As a general rule, the smaller the market, the more deliberate they'll be with hiring.Anonymous User wrote:OP here. What are some markets where hiring is slow?

Maybe he received no CBs? This happened to people that I know at my school (Cornell).UVA2B wrote:Have you literally struck out or just not heard yet? It'd be awfully early to have gotten nothing but rejections so far.

That might be the case, but not all CBs come in together, and if you haven't received dings from every firm you've interviewed at, it doesn't necessarily mean they've struck out, just that some firms are moving at a different pace and others haven't decided 'yes' or 'no' yet on them, but they're waiting to see what some more desirable candidates do in accepting offers. This process is a pretty long game, and worrying that you've struck out when it's August is just usually premature.hopefuljumbo23 wrote:Maybe he received no CBs? OP here. Since I'm new to MM, I'm not sure how it should be done. I know people suggest emailing to the recruiting contacts listed on NALP. Does it apply to firms that clearly state on their websites that applicants have to fill out certain application forms?

I'd email all the nalp contacts, then double up and apply through the web forms you mention.Anonymous User wrote:OP here. Since I'm new to MM, I'm not sure how it should be done.
