Regardless of whether you participate in OCI, you should always apply directly, too. Earlier the better.
Because they can’t do OCI at every school they’d hire from.

Any real news here? I'm still waiting on:

CFPB (I see they've sent out interviews so this is probably out)
IRS
FTC (not a formal honors program but entry-level)

No. I meant, why would their be two separate committees making hiring decisions based on whether the applicant applied via OCI or not.

Oh, got it. I think it’s that different people screen apps for OCI and for the direct applications, but they all end up on the same desk in the end (at least, that was the impression I got the year I applied).

I've heard that CFPB interviews have been extended for both Fair Lending and Enforcement.

talked to a prof today who basically confirmed the bolded.

Would really love to hear from them though... hopefully next week!

Me. Mine is also next week. I called to schedule the CB in mid-September and the woman I spoke to said the travel agency would contact me soon.
I got a follow-up email from the same woman last week confirming the interview and saying again the travel agency would contact me soon but nothing since then.

OCC is still in the middle of callbacks. I wouldn't expect anything until November at the earliest.

Anyone heard from DOL recently? I applied deadline day (Oct. 6) and haven't heard anything. This is the only honors program I applied to and I'm not sure if I was supposed to receive a confirmation email...?

If I never got a confirmation email for the CFPB program that was open for less than a week and haven't received any follow-up, should I assume that I am out of the running? It's extra weird just because of the 400th application thing. I applied pretty early but it's conceivable that I was too late, I guess.

Where did you get the 400th application thing from? I am in the same boat except I didn't apply until a couple days before the deadline.

ETA: The pdf says the posting was open a little over a month.

I interned with IRS field office SBSE last summer and had interview with them. Heard back that they wrote me a recommendation to hiring committee. It's been dead silence since then.

Other than a “we received your application” email from the hiring director, I haven’t heard anything. They did extend the application deadline last month though, so I can’t imagine what’s going on over there.
