Nothing from civil. What component did you interview for EOIR, was it OCIJ or another one?

I had the same question. Did anyone hear about their references being called for EOIR-BIA

Has anyone heard of their references being checked or has any offers went out?

Based on former posts and my own situation, references from Civ(Torts), USAO ED Cal, and EOIR have been called. I don't think any offers have gone out considering interviews aren't over until tomorrow.

What component of EOIR (OCIJ or another)?

I'm only going off of the above posts with that one. Looks like just OCIJ.

Does anyone know if all references are always contacted and a response required before an offer or does it depend on the component?

Anecdotally, I've followed these threads for a few years and I don't remember anyone getting an offer without their references being contacted. But again, that's just anecdotal.

Also, Deana usually posts on the Avue site to say when offers will start go out. Generally, interviews have to finish, and the components have to submit names to central OARM to get them approved as finalists, before official offers can be made. They can only make offers to finalists, but not all finalists will necessarily get offers (though mostly this applies to OCIJ; I think for most other components, finalists pretty much get offers) (though again, this is anecdotal based on previous years, and with the change in the tech to add component codes and such, some of the logistics might change along the way).

Do you know if they call or send an email?

Interviewers emailed two of my references to schedule a phone call. My third reference just got an email survey.

Stresses me out so much to hear that references are already being checked when I only did my interview on Wednesday. :|

Do you know if the people doing the reference-calling for OCIJ were from the actual immigration courts that are hiring? (As opposed to being a centralized process like the interviews were)

Was reimbursed for all my travel expenses this morning. That was quick! My interviews took place Oct 25-27th.

I was hired last year. ATR. My references were checked over a week or so before being named a finalist. I got an offer call w/in 24 hours of being named a finalist.

I really wish that we could limit this thread to the HONORS program, and have a separate thread for the SLIP program. Despite being the same application (more or less), they actually have very different processes after that fact. (Speaking as a former SLIP and current DOJ Honors applicant.)

Yeah I've been thinking this for a while. If a slip person could make a new thread it would be greatly appreciated.

I'll make a separate thread and move the posts from here into it.

I had really gotten my hopes up that some "finalists" might be chosen this weekend, considering HP applicants on last year's thread said that happened. Sigh.

I don't think they will be until at least later this week - interviews just finished last week and they'd need to contact references from those and I think they'll try to release all the offers at once (at least by component).

Did anyone check their status and see one of the components originally selected from gone?
