Holy shit, someone at troutman billed 3,800 hours. That is like 315-320 hours a month on average.

My big takeaway is don't work for a firm that sounds fishy.

Someone has to work at Troutman and know this guy. He is either (1) incredibly overbilling (2) a robot pretending to be human or (3) preparing to jump off a bridge right now

My firm is at the top of PPP, revenue per lawyer, profits per lawyer, etc. yet we were told we need to get our billables up because they're lower than our peer firms. I fucking hate this industry.

If you don't have American Lawyer subscription, you should be able to access it through Lexis (if, of course, you have Lexis access).

Yeah, billing 10.5 hours a day for an entire year is just... death.

I for one am shocked that Attica, Andersonville, and Birkenau LLP weren't rushing out to volunteer how infrequently their indentures see their families to Amlaw.

I've been doing 10+ hour days for 2 months now and it's soul wearying. I've managed to get my weekends less crazy at least, but I can't imagine going consistently north of 225, let alone 300 every single month.

The Troutman person probably only got like a 40-50k bonus too.

I think it should be against the law to bill over 3,500k and not get at least a $100k bonus.
