Just doing some government job in DC or elsewhere is still totally doable. And 1L summer jobs really don't matter for OCI. I think a SA position is not going to happen, however.

Quite possibly because OP was potentially embarrassed/didn't want to be outed, so tried to insinuate they were in last year's 1L class rather than this year.
