Just doing some government job in DC or elsewhere is still totally doable. And 1L summer jobs really don't matter for OCI. I think a SA position is not going to happen, however.

OP almost certainly just meant 2016 fall grades rather than 2015...

Then why would OP have said that they took some time off?
Quite possibly because OP was potentially embarrassed/didn't want to be outed, so tried to insinuate they were in last year's 1L class rather than this year. Anyway, OP would probably appreciate more legitimate advice and less prying into personal details so I'm out.
