Mailed a couple of Firms today. It's really becoming burdensome that I am not even getting screeners at this point. Still no ding/ offer from the firm I interviewed with during OCI.

I'm also applying to non-profit. I really just need an offer before finals begin :/

Definitely spread your options out. Most firms have already made offers and have definitely already screened. Have you tried smaller firms? They typically don't advertise.

Hm. During my very recent screener, I was told that they were only hiring one 1L. Maybe they said this to soften my impending rejection...

They lied.. a classmate was just offered a 1L spot CCN

Anyone hear from Jones Day Houston?

Has this happened to anyone else? I got a call out of the blue today from a firm I mailed about two months ago. I had literally forgotten about it. I had just gotten home from class and was about 30 min into a nap when I got called for an impromptu phone screener. Talk about being unprepared. She ended by saying I "may be getting a call back." Ummmm...what? I guess it's better than all the dings I've gotten this week, but c'mon- an unscheduled phone interview? Maybe a call back? I feel like that's just twisting the knife.

Damn. That's a pretty sizeable 1L class given how small the LA office is generally. Think their 2L class is only like 8 or so.

My bad - the hlser is going to Jones Day SD.

Has anyone heard from Akin Gump Dallas or Houston yet? I haven't heard anything for Pro Bono Scholars or their regular summer associates, so I am assuming it's a no go and they just haven't been kind enough to formally reject me yet.

Also -- I had an interview with Jackson Walker Houston way back before I even got my grades, and was super surprised to get an interview that early. I thought it went super well and I followed up with my grades and everything, mandatory thank you note, all of that, but it's been radio silence since then. I didn't get the impression from our communications that they would just leave me hanging -- am I being naive and is all hope lost?

Not sure about Dallas/Houston but NY has sent invites for callbacks.

I had offers from Akin (not pro bono) and JW Houston in January.
