How To Answer - Phone Interview
What is the recommended way to answer the phone for a phone interview? My career services did not advise us on this. Saying "hello" is obviously unprofessional.....do I say "Hi, this is ___ speaking"?

This really depends where you are interviewing. Need to demonstrate ties and geographic preference from the get. For example, if a Texas firm, best to answer "howdy!"; if a CA firm, "Hey its, ____, I'm stoked to be interviewing with you, brah., etc.

Seriously, go with whatever is most comfortable. Don't overthink it.
I always answer, "This is FirstName." Its simple, to the point. Amusingly, answering the phone that way allows me a bit of asshole-level-smugness when autodialer operators ask, "Can I speak to FirstName?"
