NY: Kirkland vs. Gibson

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Aug 23, 2016 2:36 pm

Interested in litigation. I would like to work at a firm which gives substantive experience and takes cases to trial. Kirkland seems to have great training opportunities for young lit associates as part of their summer program. I know Gibson is well known for its appellate work, but that is mainly out of its DC office but they are also Band 1 for General Commercial Lit in NY. From CB's and firm events, I liked the people at Gibson more than those at Kirkland. I don't have any strong preference for any area of lit at this point but I do have a science background so IP work is something I am looking into/interested in.

If you liked the people at Gibson the most, go with Gibson--seriously. You cannot go wrong with Gibson.

For lit, Gibson all the way. For transactional I'd probably say the opposite.
