Ideally, you build a relationship with the startup by helping with formation. Then through contract reviews and funding. And if you have a relationship they will continue to come to you for GC type of things. Then when disputes arise you can litigate too. I think for most startups the lawyer they need is a outside GC who understands their industry and business.
So I am almost full service. and I really do get all kinds of work.
