Bruh, I'm a summer associate. I am living the dream. Going to be graduating with no debt and the ability to choose what I want to do and where I want to work. May or may not choose biglaw. But if they chose to fire me because my attire wasn't conservative enough, I'd be quite happy to move on.

I'll wear what I like. Not what I think the senior partner will like.

This doesn't have anything to do with biglaw and everything to do with the fact that a red shirt and tie combo is just butt ugly. There are absolutely things that look great that aren't biglaw-approved or appropriate. A red shirt and red tie combo isn't one. It's not that it's not conservative, it's that it's hideous.

(Also I'm assuming you're not going into lit because lol at wearing what you like in front of a judge and jury.)

Lit all day, Nony. I've got my purple suit ready for trial. The jurors will equate me with Barney and that will be an auto-win.

Like I said, red doesn't work for me.

I would love to try cases against someone who made jurors think of Barney. Shortest time to verdict in my favor ever.

I've already covered where I'm at in the world. And since I'm not anon, you can do your own fact-checking. Come on, my friend, keep up.

You don't have a purple suit in your closet?

Nah, he's a 2L with a SA. And doubtless a closet full of purple suits.

You'd think. But I've seen jury deliberations. It's truly enlightening. Plus, everybody loves that big purple dinosaur. Except this girl:

there's no reason at all to go anon here.

+1
something here about inconsistency in enforcement of principles being tantamount to intellectual incompetence

See, now I know you're trolling, or at least you don't know anyone with kids, because all the parents I know start twitching violently with rage when Barney comes on.

Do you guys not wear pocket squares with your suits everyday? I feel so weird without one.

If you're playing Satan in a short lived CW show, maybe?

ETA: or working as a strip club dj. Although those don't really look "good", they just look fitting.

File NHL coaches under your last line. They wear some of the worst shirt/tie combos known to man, but they do it with pride and regularly. Maybe it's a Canadian thing.

I have a bunch I received as a gift. I want to wear them, but feel like it would be overkill at my casual firm. Saving them for parties and events.
