Congrats to everyone with early screeners/CBs/offers!
Received DPW NY callback. No screener. Some networking. T14.
I understand the CB —> offer rate for DPW is usually pretty low.

I understand the CB —> offer rate for DPW is usually pretty low.Does anyone know (or care to speculate) if the pre-OCI stats are consistent with the 20–23% figure I've seen floating around?

Does the firm start with an L?
I received a similar email this week from a firm starting with a W. Though based on how the email was framed, I don't think it's an interview (hope I'm wrong).
Why are you guys being so secretive...lol.

Haha, you're right. It's White Case. I have no idea whether it's a screener or not and whether I should still bid them during OCI. I probably need to use one of my top 5 bids to get a screener... Anyone who has done an informational visit with them? How formal was it? Did it turn into a CB?

When your T14 counselor says ''lots of NY firms began giving out offers in June and early July.......'' aka telling you ''NY is dry for OCI''.
We're fucked.

How does "lots of NY firms began giving out offers" = NY is "dry" for OCI? Also, counselors at my T14 are likely just as ill-informed as counselors at yours. I wouldn't be surprised if they're telling you that based on this thread.

Because more early offers means less offers to give come oci to hit the firms normal conversion ratios. For example if I need to hit 50 offers to get 15 summers and I already gave 30 pre summer, there's only 20 left.
This is also could be bad for people below median because more qualified candidates can take more callbacks because the cycle is more spread out.
On the flipside potentially less competition at oci if someone already had a dpw offer, then maybe they won't take half of their Oci slots.

Yeah, but my point is that you and I have no way of knowing that based on this thread. People should absolutely massmail and try to get pre-OCI interviews, but to say NY is "dry" based on the information in this thread (which has been false in past years/threads) assumes a lot.

They meet daily even before OCI period?
Do you know about an offer extended for pre-OCI 2016?

I'm finishing up an SA with Jones Day in a secondary market and they have done a few callbacks so far. It's one of the Pittsburgh/Cleveland/Columbus offices.

Is this normal or should I be expecting a ding in the near future?

What is your source re: STB offers? Do you know how many days between CB --> offer was?
I had a CB on a Thursday and a phone call with an offer the following Tuesday evening.
