Got an offer by email last night and a partner I interviewed with called today and left a VM tonight to congratulate me, and left me his number and suggested I could call back but didn't explicitly ask me to. Thoughts on whether I should?

You already had the offer...it's not like a lot can go wrong. Just call back to thank him.Anonymous User wrote:Got an offer by email last night and a partner I interviewed with called today and left a VM tonight to congratulate me, and left me his number and suggested I could call back but didn't explicitly ask me to. Anyone hear from Sullivan & Cromwell, Skadden, or White & Case's London offices? My EIP interviews were all on Friday, and it's already been two weeks and haven't heard back.

Any reason not to drop out of the rest of my CBs if I am happy with two offers I received and they are better than my remaining options?

What in gods name is taking Sullivan & Cromwell NYC so long to get back to me? Still waiting on CB or ding going on two weeks now. I'm about ready to accept an offer and feel stupid waiting and waiting and waiting.

I guess you have to ask yourself what "better" means? If you mean you've considered all possible factors, then you can drop out of the CBs. If you know you wouldn't accept an offer from any of the remaining CB firms, then you should definitely drop. But if there's a chance you might consider an offer from one, what harm is there in going back for the CB?Anonymous User wrote:Any reason not to drop out of the rest of my CBs if I am happy with two offers I received and they are better than my remaining options?

I definitely will not accept an offer from any of the CBs that I plan on canceling. I guess I'm thinking that on the small chance I decide to switch after the summer, does it make a difference if a firm made an offer the previous year vs cancelled CB?Anonymous User wrote:I guess you have to ask yourself what "better" means? Re: Columbia EIP 2016
yeah, I think there's a difference. I'm forcing myself to do one last callback next week, even though I'm fairly certain I'd pick two other offers over this firm.Anonymous User wrote:I definitely will not accept an offer from any of the CBs that I plan on canceling. Re: Columbia EIP 2016
Is there such a thing as declining an offer too soon?
I have an offer from Firm A, but I am more inclined to accept my offers from Firms B or C.
I want to decline the offer so that Firm A can give it to someone else, but I really liked the people I met at Firm A and I don't want them to think it was an easy decision for me.
What's the protocol for this? Should I wait for like two weeks before declining or decline now?

If you're going to decline it eventually, do it now so someone else has a chance. Firm A isn't going to take it personally, they meet a lot of people.Anonymous User wrote:Is there such a thing as declining an offer too soon?

Around 3:30-4. They said they have weekly hiring meetings though, so might be Wednesday meetings.Anonymous User wrote:If you don't mind my asking, what time did your offer call come?Anonymous User wrote:MondayAnonymous User wrote:When was your Latham CB?Anonymous User wrote:Latham offer

Re: Columbia EIP 2016
Anyone have a callback at Shearman? What was your experience? Each of my interviewers had a very distinct style/line of questioning and I'm wondering if that was orchestrated.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
