HSW (the MBA equivalent of HYS) will absolutely bar you for a shit GPA. Not only that, but they heavily value BB ibanking and MBB consulting. These jobs mainly recruit high GPA applicants from select schools. An english major could absolutely get these jobs. They would probably need to go to HYPS for undergrad, however.Biglaw_Associate_V20 wrote:That was an exaggeration. Different factors get you into b school, but even the top b schools don't bar you from entry based on a sub-3.8 GPA in undergrad like HYS do. If you have a legitimate interest in non-legal corporate work, however, you should be doing stuff after college that will help you get into b school (like getting a fucking job; and no, it's not hard to get a job if you hustle). If you do this, it WILL be easy for you to get into b school in you can spin your experience in the right way and crush the GMAT (which is easy as fuck compared to the LSAT).dabigchina wrote:gonna have to call bullshit on that oneBiglaw_Associate_V20 wrote:A top MBA is cheaper and easier to get than any JD
If somebody can get into a M7 MBA, that is great for them. They should probably do that if they want to work in business. But this whole "just do a M7 MBA brah" myth that keeps on getting perpetuated on TLS is laughably bad advice and really serves nobody.
