Thank you emails are highly encouraged in TX. You will get responses 50%+ of the time. Might just be a TX thing

Re: UChicago OCI 2015
at your callback the recruiting people will give you instructions and a nalp reimbursement form to fill out. other than that, it varies. one of the firms i did a callback with booked everything for me, so i didn't have to reimburse anything except cab rides. another got me tickets, but asked me to pay for the hotel and asked for the receipt and will be paying me back. some want the forms mailed; some faxed and scanned. it just depends on the firm.Anonymous User wrote:do we just send all our travel expenses by mail? how does this process work? Omg they are not necessary. I repeat: they are NOT NECESSARY. They've likely already sent their feedback along before you will have had a chance to write them. Further, no one in their right mind will ding you for not sending them if they already liked you in the interview.Anonymous User wrote:What about NY?
Law students still continue to write them even in the face of overwhelming advice to the contrary, especially on tls. So write them if you must, just know it's very likely a waste of time.
And lol at the Texas person. I really hope you're basing the claim that thank you notes are necessary on more than the fact that you receive responses from the attorneys lol.

By the time you send your thank you notes, the evaluations will have already been submitted. Unless you personally connected and had something come up during conversation that would lead you to follow up with an associate or partner, just let it go.

Was it a link to fill out diversity type information? If so, I got this right after my screener and thought it was weird, but still haven't heard anything back so not sure what to think.Anonymous User wrote:What's the status of Perkins Coie? Yeah. It says that they're required to send it to all applicants, so I'm not going to get my hopes up at this point.Anonymous User wrote:Was it a link to fill out diversity type information? Just FYI, Williams & Connolly told me they wouldn't extend any offers to Chicago students until they finished all the Chicago callbacks. So 1. Schedule it for as soon as possible so we all suffer less and 2. Don't panic if you don't hear anything back for a while. Doesn't mean you're dinged.

If there have been S&C cbs then there have been S&C offers. They offer at the interview. If you didn't get an offer then, you almost certainly won't be getting one.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone received a S&C offer yet?

Re: UChicago OCI 2015
Apparently, they changed it this year. People at the firm told summers to tell their friends, and recruiting said it. Since Chicago and Stanford moved up their OCIs, they have too many students in the office at once to evaluate everyone that soon.
