Approximate class rank: top 15%
Journal: None
Moot Court, Mock Trial, etc.: None
IP background: None
Significant work experience: Yes
Years out of undergrad: 5+
Prestigious undergrad: No
Other relevant factors: Interesting work experience
Target markets: DC
Type of work sought: Litigation
Self-assessed interviewing ability: Above-average
Screeners or callbacks prior to EIW from mass-mailing: 0
Screeners received for EIW: 17
Callbacks received from EIW screeners: 9 (7 DC, 1 NYC, 1 overseas)
Offers received: 6
Accepted: V20 in DC
Commentary: Journal membership is not a strict requirement. I failed to complete my write-on case comment during the competition (a huge mistake) and am not a journal. The lack of journal membership was a glaring hole in my resume, and, contrary to what others have posted, several screening interviewers inquired about it. If you're one of the unlucky journal-less students, highlight (and re-highlight) something that sets you apart from other applicants (e.g., academic background, work experience, some interesting life story, etc.), and be prepared to discuss what else you're going to do your 2L and 3L years.

^^^ I have heard about an offer there, yeah. I gather it's a tiny class and I'm not sure if that person accepted.

Pretty sure nobody compiles that info during the process; we won't know until 9 months post-graduation, and we still won't know how many snagged something post-oci or during 3L. Anecdotally, I only know one kid who struck out at GULC, and he didn't seem surprised based on his grades. A lot of PI folks from my section didn't participate at all, so that's another unknowable factor to consider when we try to make sense of this down the line.

I know of 8 or so strikeouts, and none are surprising because of grades.

also heard of at least 5. don't know much about their grades, but it seemed surprising considering their "extracurriculars" and general disposition. conversely, I've heard of quite a few people with extremely low GPAs who got multiple offers. the world is strange.

Anon who was just asking, consider myself very very lucky because I'm in that range with a V100 offer. Those who are still searching keep fighting there are jobs to be had.

Approximate class rank: low tier transfer
Journal: secondary
Moot Court, Mock Trial, etc.: n/a
IP background: None
Significant work experience: no
Years out of undergrad: k-jd
Prestigious undergrad: No
Other relevant factors: nope
Target markets: DC, NYC, CHI (& MM'd - everywhere)
Type of work sought: Transactional
Self-assessed interviewing ability: below-average
Screeners from mass-mailing: 4
Screeners received for EIW: 19 (started with 9, added 10 during add/drop)
Callbacks received from screeners: 3 (1 via EIW, 2 via MM)
Offers received: 1
Accepted: V100 DC
Commentary: mm'd 500+ firms, "struck-out" at EIW (even after bidding strategically, might as well have bid randomly), being a shit tier transfer hurt, got lucky.
