Don't lose hope yet! I worked for FTC BCP this past summer and heard nothing from them between my initial interview and when I got my offer in December. I also interviewed for BC in August (for an Honors position) and they sent me a lovely rejection letter in mid-September. So you never know!

Have they done their in person call backs already? I had a phone screener a couple of weeks ago and never heard anything and assumed they moved on.

No, I haven't heard since the phone screener either. Perhaps you're right, but I'm holding out hope for the first couple days of this week.

Yea there is definitely still hope! They told me call backs would be end of the Nov. and beginning of Dec and that they knew they would have to be flexible with finals. Do you have any idea if they called your references? I don't think mine got called.

Not yet. Perhaps they are running a bit behind. Fingers crossed for both of us!

DOL Update: Received an e-mail saying the hiring cmte has finished reviewing all apps and my app is under "active consideration". Also ask for preferences regarding offices.

"No notifications have been sent out, ____. We are waiting for word from our General Counsel.

We will keep you updated."

Nothing. It isn't a federal holiday today, but my guess is that we won't hear anything until next week.

It comes down to the individual offices, they make a final cut. They can also chose to have a final in person interview. People have gotten offers as late as Feb/March.

Does anyone have any info regarding the hiring needs of particular DOL offices? I know they are hiring 10 total Honors attorneys, but how many is HQ taking vs. how many the regional offices are taking? I ranked 2 regional offices and would love to know how many people the office is actually planning to hire so that I can adjust my pessimism accordingly ...

My interviewers told me that the recruitment committee will forward a recommended list to the GC, who may choose to interview candidates or just select them for hire based off of interview notes/application package. Apparently we should find out by thanksgiving...but who knows.

The same thing happened to me with DOJ SLIP last year, they told me they would do in person call backs and I heard nothing assumed I didn't get it then got an offer. Probably too optimistic, but you never know! I'm too scared to email and ask for an update.
