Re: Government Honors Programs - other than DOJ (2015-2016 Cycle)
Does anyone know how many rounds of interviews DOL does? I was contacted for a phone interview. Did not interview at OCI, applied via email.
I had a phone interview with DOT and then an in-person interview in DC. Does DOL do it the same way?

Pretty sure they just do one round of interviews.

I did a Round 2 interview on Oct. 28, and they said we'd hear ~Nov. 5. Hoping for some news soon!Nebby wrote:Nothing yet. I had my second round last week and they said final round interview invites would go out mid-Nov.Anonymous User wrote:NOAA final round?

For person who interviewed with HUD and they called references - which region is this? Was the interview a phone interview or in person? I am trying to get a sense of whether all HUD interviewers are all calling references

IRS individual offices call separately and they primarily take former interns. I haven't heard since the screener.Anonymous User wrote:Has anybody heard from the IRS?

That was me. I interviewed in person in the southeastern region but HQ is my first choice. One of my references said the person who called him - who was one of my interviewes - asked him a predetermined set of questions, similar to the ones asked during the actual HUD interview.

Email. Actually both interviewers sent me the same form rejection. Didn't want me getting any ideas I guess.Anonymous User wrote:NOAA by email or snail mail? For HUD headquarters interviewers, how long did it take for references to be contacted?

When did you submit references to DOT? I had a second round interview with DOT in DC about a month ago, never submitted references. Applied via simplicity with a resume.Anonymous User wrote:DOT/NOAA references contacted yet?

you're right, i just had my references attached to my resume for both DOT and NOAA, but it appears that neither required it.

Top 10% at a T100, law review, no fed experience, summer associate in biglaw. I believe I have been competitive in my job applications/searches because they didnt just look at stats but looked at some of the non-traditional factors that set me apart (obviously, because at a T100, I really shouldnt be very competitive for anything!). Through law school (and currently) work full time at one of the nations largest banks in regulatory and compliance management, worked part-time as a research assistant, and am a single parent. I think that plus my academic credentials and made me competitive.
Anonymous User wrote:HUD applicants/interviewees: are you willing to share your stats? I'm trying to gauge what sort of people they're looking at. I'm top 20% at a T50, extensive civil rights law experience, housing law experience from 2L pathways job with fed. agency in DC (not HUD). My references were called 2-3 days after my interview.

You did not interview at HQ, correct? Seems that nobody who interviewed at HQ has had references called - please correct me if I'm wrong.Anonymous User wrote:I was the poster above. Oh, I'm sorry! Yeah, I didn't interview at HQ, I interviewed at New York. I know for sure they called one of my references, but I haven't heard back from the others.Anonymous User wrote:How many of your refs were calledAnonymous User wrote:I was the poster above.
