Either that or they're just on a really late schedule. I had my first round early September, and each time I call I am assured that I will have a second round but "they just take a long time scheduling" and I should check back if I don't hear anything by the end of January.Anonymous User wrote:Friend got a rejection letter from Queens DA on Friday.
Seems like they really aren't hiring much?

Thanks to those of you who PM'ed me. I received some good news over the break... I was hired at the Manhattan DA and I accepted. It looks like leaving the 3 buttons open as some of you suggested did the trick!
Best of luck to everyone!

Re: District Attorney Offices 2016
I would check out the hypos/advice from last year's thread and maybe even 2014's as well, that was really helpful. First round had a few basic questions- why prosecution, why Miami, why this office. Then they gave me a hypo and wanted me to walk them through my thought process on what I would do as a prosecutor, what constitutional rights were involved. They changed it up as they went along, challenged me on my decisions. Second round- no questions other than an incredibly long, complicated hypo; requiring same type of Brady/ethical/constitutional analysis as before. Know Crim Pro like the back of your hand. Third round- with KFR, who is very friendly and conversational. Asked lots of personal questions, borderline inappropriate, but you just have to keep your composure, be friendly and answer her questions. I haven't heard yet whether I've been dinged or not, so fingers crossed...Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Mines was: 1) Hypos with 1 ASA, 2) No hypos with 1 EASA, 2) Conversation w/ SAAnonymous User wrote:1st round- Mostly hypos w/ 2 SA'sAnonymous User wrote:For anyone who interviewed with Miami, are all 3 rounds panel interviews? For those stressing out about Queens. Relax.
Please be nice to Helene.
I am pretty sure she has talked to, and has left a great impression with, nearly every recently hired ADA in all the NYC offices.

Which office has the most attractive females? I've heard it's Manhattan DA. Nothing like a strong female in a skirt suit\pant suit

Hey all,
How transferable is DA internship experience to other offices? For example, if you take a 2L internship at a major city DA office, but for some reason you do not wish to live/work in the city, do you have any kind of a leg up for other offices in other parts of the country when it comes to hiring after 3L year?

Re: District Attorney Offices 2016
I think it is pretty beneficial. I've had interviews where ask specifically if you think you can handle the craziness of their office. Having experience in another big office does nothing but help assure them that you are cut out for the job. At the very least it shows that you want to be in a big city and you aren't just applying to offices because they hire before taking the bar.cdemps3 wrote:Hey all,

Has anyone heard anything from the Bronx since the week before Christmas? I had my third round that week and haven't heard anything. I'm thinking that they have kind of put hiring to the side with the holidays and DA transition happening but the silence isn't exaclty building confidence either. They could also be waiting to hear back from others they have offered and preparing to make another wave of offers. Interested to see what others think.

It seems to me they have put hiring aside too. My third round was December 8th and I still haven't heard anything. No rejection yet, so trying to remain hopeful but agreed that the silence is not building confidence. Lets hope for another wave soon.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard anything from the Bronx since the week before Christmas? I had my third round that week and haven't heard anything.
