I had my 2nd Round end of September, called towards end of October. They told me that I did well enough that it's just a matter of scheduling at this stage.

Still have not had a call back about scheduling a 3rd. I would suggest calling if you haven't had any contact for a month.

I'm not applying with this class but I have a question about New York DA's offices. What's their previous drug use policy as far as background checks go?

Had my third round executive interview with BK somewhere around first week of October, got the call two weeks after that to come in for the final.

very, very, very combative. Probably the most stressful interview i've been in. Their testing you - so just keep your cool, answer the questions and joke with them and its fine. But don't be throw off if they come at you hard.

How long did you have to wait after BX second interview to get the third?

Well, that's new. Their 3rd round last year took maybe 5 minutes and it was pretty much a "hi, how are you? Why do you want to be an ADA? Okay, bye now" type of thing.

Has anyone received an offer at Bx yet? I don't see anywhere telling how long they give you, especially as I'm trying real hard to get Kings to speed up.

In that regard, I have a soft spot for Kings having worked there and have no experience in the Bx other than my interviews. Is Bronx the better office? Will Bronx be the better office? I now find myself "liking" them more because they are moving the fastest for me, which seems foolish.

Plus, all my 2d Dept boilerplate briefbanking would be useless.

Had my 3rd with Bx this week. Had the opposite experience. Felt very much like a screener. However, my 2nd round panel interview was the most stressful interview I've ever been in, so they might have decided to give me a break.

What I find strange is that I think I went through the entire Bx process without being given a hypo.

Can the previous two posters share their stats? I'm applying next cycle and I'd appreciate it!

Tough to do without outing yourself but based on my experience so far, only DANY cares about stats and school prestige.

I haven't received an offer yet, but my grades were pretty much right at median at an NY school ranked lower than Fordham. Some C's, some A's. DANY was the only office not to give me a screener (no ding, just radio silence). I'm deep into the other offices' rounds, and no one has asked about my GPA in an interview since 2L internship interviewing.

EDIT: and I also had my Bx final round.

How do background checks work in these places?
Is it:
1) offer-->accept-->Background--->Confirm

2) Background-->offer-->accept

3) offer -->Background-->accept

If it's 1, should one wait to withdraw other applications until the check is completed?

Are you aware of when you will hear back regarding an offer? I know I've heard different stories but did you get any indication from the office?

I was early in my "pack" of interviewers so they didn't really open for questions. Looking at last year's thread, it seems like December were the first verifiable offers, with rumors that people got offers the same day. In this cycle, I would not be surprised if they waited until January so that she can personally sign the offer letters.
