Might depend, but to the best of my knowledge - officially, Bk - 1 week, DANY/Queens - 2 weeks. I believe it's fairly easy to get a reasonable extension if you need it.Anonymous User wrote: Does anyone know if you get an offer how long each office gives you before you make a decision?

Re: District Attorney Offices 2016
Does anyone know how they determine callback order in the NYC offices? Is it a ranking of strength of candidate?
I'm consistently getting called weeks after all of my classmates who I know have higher GPAs.

Call back order may depend in some part in the strength of the candidate. But it also depends on candidates with competing interviews and offers. I know that at DANY it is mostly down to how long the interviewer takes to hand your file back to legal hiring. Sometimes they have it sitting on their desk for weeks before they get around to completing the review form.

Typically 1 week. Maybe 2. Always inform the other offices when you receive an offer. If they're interested in you they'll move.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know if you get an offer how long each office gives you before you make a decision?

Ah, well they are still doing so, friend just got one last week. Provides some more support for the "slowness" of Queens hiring.Anonymous User wrote:They started doing this a while ago. Queens also doesn't hire regular "classes" like Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. It's a smaller office, so there's more of a hiring as needed approach with them. I know that when I went through this process last year, Queens told me they were definitely hiring at least some ADA's because they needed them. I'm not sure what the status is this time around.

They absolutely do hire regular classes - they're significantly smaller than Manhattan/Brooklyn/Bronx and Queens hires two classes a year (September/March) instead of one - but they do consistently hire 10-20 ADAs at a time who all start and are trained together.

*sigh* I'll rephrase:
There is no set number of ADA's (a/k/a "regular classes") hired by the Queens DA's Office. The number that they plan on hiring depends on their staffing needs. While they do run a regular hiring cycle every year, it is largely unknown until the end of the cycle how many spots they're hiring for and whether one might be deferred to the next cycle/start date. This was what I was told, and I know others who were told the same thing.

Isn't this every NYC office? My impression of Kings at least is that they'll regularly say 40-50, but only pick up 20-30.sd5289 wrote:*sigh* I'll rephrase:

Scheduled my Bronx 2nd. Any tips? Had Kings Panel so any comparisons between Bronx Panel and Kings Panel?
I called Kings a month after my panel and they told me that my panel interviewers thought i did well. Am I just waiting for a schedule slot or would they still ding me?

Re: District Attorney Offices 2016
- Got a 4th round interview scheduled for BK with the DA - pushed it late because i'm waiting on DANY
- 3rd round Dany in 2 weeks
- BX second round next week
- had queens second round. Queens was very chill, not that adversarial.- EDIT - the queens hypo involved search and seizure and had a lot of legal issues packed into a very short story - think i did ok but you should know search and seizure well.

Would you be willing to tell me when your exec round with BK was? I had mine 3 weeks ago and am still waiting to hear about 4th round.

Queens also gave me a fact-pattern (as like follow up question number five in a lengthy hypo) that tracked the circumstances of Giglio (you know Brady info for another prosecutor's case, essentially).Anonymous User wrote:The queens hypo involved search and seizure and had a lot of legal issues packed into a very short story - think i did ok but you should know search and seizure well.
If DANY wants you, they'll be willing to move your interview up. They've started making ADA offers.Anonymous User wrote:- Got a 4th round interview scheduled for BK with the DA - pushed it late because i'm waiting on DANY

Is it strange not to get any hypos during DANY round 2/3?

This waiting sh*t is getting old.
Anyone else applying to other NY offices (Erie, Monroe, Onondaga, Albany) if pre-bar hiring doesn't work out? Any insight as to that raffle ticket?
My resume is packed with NY crim law stuff that I feel would be useless out of state.

At what rounds, in NYC, is it about "fit"?
I guess what I'm saying is, when can I stop worrying about my bleh GPA?

I had one hypo in Round 2 (charging mother for stealing formula for her starving baby), none in Round 3.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone have DANY 3rd round? If so, what is it like? Any hypos?
Also - Round 2, I was asked which hypos I prepared for.

If you were called for an interview #1...I would stop worrying about your GPA at that point.Anonymous User wrote:At what rounds, in NYC, is it about "fit"?

Round #2 is about fit since you meet mostly with junior to senior level ADAs.
