Heard about CB's from Bracewell, and Shearman. Ding from Fried Frank. Anyone hear anything from K&S? Not too many people interviewed with them

Nothing from K&S yet, but my interviewer told me it would be about a week before we heard back.

Good luck everyone on OCI and congrats to those with callbacks/cb dinners.

Just a reminder that you can put this info into http://www.biglawrefuge.com. If you haven't heard of it yet, it's a platform for sharing anonymous job statistics. Help your fellow classmates out and encourage others to share! You can also associate interviews with your job applications, so you can share that information as well.

Anon question, b/c I have an interview with them, but does anyone know if V&E ever does splits, and if so, is it extraordinary circumstances (law review, cure for cancer, and offer from BB), or is it something they're comfortable with?

Almost any firm allows splits, as long as you're with them for the first half. Are you asking if they'll allow you to work there for the second half? I've heard that's theoretically possible, but perhaps not for mere mortals like you and I.

If you're referring to V&E Houston, they will not let you come second half. 6 weeks at the beginning of the summer. 5 weeks if you're returning. Seriously.

Yeah, I don't have any personal experience with that but I've heard anecdotally that they will bend on the first half only thing in very rare occastions.

Sounds like you have insider info though so I defer to you.

There's your answer OP, V&E really is first half only.

Whoops, typed that too fast and didn't clarify enough.

Yeah, I meant do they allow second half, but you guys answered that. Thanks.

Got lucky with an early offer I couldn't refuse and cancelled my ut oci. If you have firms you want for next week, hustle, there should be some open slots. Best of luck law bros; crush it next week.

Posting here (a) for anonymity and (b) because it's relevant to the job search and has been pulled down off of NALP. Order of the Coif (top 10%) numbers came out today for class of 2015: 3.82 was the cutoff.

Some past years show that this is on the high end of recent numbers: 3.76, 3.80, 3.81, and 3.82.

HH was also high this year; I can't say how high, but certainly somewhere north of 3.89.

You can't like casually cancel one or two at this point, I think it has to be like all or nothing, essentially.

Is skipping a pre interview reception basically an automatic ding? I have three receptions and six interviews on Tuesday, and I'm not sure I can make it to all of them.

Is it best to prioritize the firms you really want rather than dropping by each for a little bit?

No. It's generally around 3.55 but I don't know for this year.

I'd at least go to each reception and pick up your name tag, have a beer, stay 10 minutes and leave.

You can definitely make it to all of them.
