Curious about Pepper specifically.

Also do satellite offices pay DE market or market for where they're headquartered?

Curious on this too. Had a YCST screener about two weeks ago. Did anybody interview with Prickett Jones or know about the size of their summer class? It looks like a small operation.

I interviewed with Prickett. The interviewer and I didn't click at all and I got a ding in the mail 4 days after I interviewed. With that being said, I spoke to an attorney that practices in Wilmington and he told me that Prickett recently got a massive settlement for a case that they were working on and they got millions in legal fees. He told me that he the associates got a bonus that was equivalent to a year's salary

So since there has been at least one accounted for affirmative ding then I wonder what that means for the rest of us. I had my screener about 3 weeks ago and still have not heard a thing. I know that their doing CB's already (obviously) so I assume that means we're on a waitlist of some sort

It wasn't a settlement. It was a fee award PJ earned after prosecuting an entire fairness case and winning a nearly $2 billion verdict for the plaintiff class. The firm was awarded $300mm for its work on behalf of the class. Chip Brown, lead counsel in that case, still maintains an active practice. I don't know how much the firm's practice has changed (if at all) since Southern Peru, but I still regard it as one of the top 3 plaintiff's shops in town along with Grant & Eisenhoffer and Frielander & Gorris.

Is Strine that funny in person?

Late...but if Strine was a TLS poster (not ruling it out) he'd be banned on the regular for going to far. In other words, the dude is fucking hilarious.

He co-taught my M&A Class and he equated Revlon to being unhappy that you hooked up with "the girl who was hot enough" at the bar. He cold called based off of that analogy.

He's definitely very funny. I think he's toned it down a bit, unfortunately, since his move to the Supreme Court. Other judges being in the same courtroom has a humor-stifling effect.

Firms like Pepper and Fox are headquartered in Philadelphia so the pay is very similar or the same. I'm not sure about Pepper but Fox pays the same in Wilmington as they do in Philadelphia, which I think is 135. Pepper could possibly pay less in Wilmington because they pay 150 in Philadelphia.

Anyone here considering picking one of the big 4 over multiple NYC v100 big law firms? If so, what's your reasoning? QoL?

I did. Over V20 NYC offers. I am from a more medium sized city and wanted neither the high col or the hustle and bustle of manhattan. It's a good medium, even though Wilmington itself is terrible. That, and the net pay is more for the first 3 years or so, by which time I know I would have been running away from NYC anyway.

This is what I'm struggling with. Is the work in DE better than the work at a lower V100 firm? Would I be crazy to pick a V100 satellite over RLF/MNAT?
