Re: 2015 University of Virginia OGI Thread
I was the 13 below-median. For me, it was half NYC, and the rest my regional home market and another regional market that I have some ties to and that's how my cbs have shaken out as well. I also might be a good interviewer, but I have no idea. didn't do any mock interviews, didn't want to sound scriptedAnonymous User wrote:Where are below median people bidding/applying to get so many CBs??

Re: 2015 University of Virginia OGI Thread
Dc, home market, southeast secondary markets that I didn't have ties to but made a compelling case for why I wanted to be there
eta: I was 4 cbs, I didn't do ny because I just couldn't stand the thought of being in ny.

I was the 10 callback. And since we got 70 bids by being below median I was able to apply to predominately NY/DC with some random secondaries/home markets thrown in.
ETA: Majority CBs are NY.

Are people doing double callbacks in a day? I feel like I'm going to miss too much class if I don't start doing this--but at the same time I feel like I will burn out for the second interview

Re: 2015 University of Virginia OGI Thread
I think it's all about knowing your interview style and whether you think you can be fully present in both sets of interviews. I've done two doubles so far. While they're definitely exhausting, they're also doable for me. I got offers from the both of the firms I interviewed with on that first double (take that as you will from an internet stranger, but I say it to try and back up my claim that it's doable). I did more prep for each of the firms on the double than I usually do for the singles, since I only had a small amount of time to reset in between.
I also think Joby's advice makes a lot of sense: if you can avoid it, don't do back to back to back doubles. Seems like that's where you'd start getting yourself into trouble.

thanks for this. eh i guess I can try to do this, at least if and when i get my first offer, but right now I think it's difficult to even keep people straight for a half day of interviews.Anonymous User wrote:I think it's all about knowing your interview style and whether you think you can be fully present in both sets of interviews. Anybody getting offers yet? No need to say where from, but city/time from callback to offer would be helpful.

I've had a couple offers. Both within 48 hours of the CB. Markets are DC and NYC.

Not that anon, but it's different for every firm. I have 5 offers now (several from callbacks I did before OGI) and the times were varied. The longest wait was exactly 1 month and the shortest was 1 day. Remember, no news is good news.Anonymous User wrote:Would you mind sharing the timing between CB and offer?Anonymous User wrote:Yeah I have a couple. I know it can vary, but I wanted to get some data points on turnaround time this year.

I was this anon--one of them was 48 hours (non NYC)--the NY ones were a week. I think it just varies per firmAnonymous User wrote:Would you mind sharing the timing between CB and offer?Anonymous User wrote:Yeah I have a couple. I received an NY offer on the day of the CB but I've heard nothing from any of the non-NY firms I visited last week. I think it really depends on the firm.
