Any Jones Day non-DC CBs?

Anyone interview w/ Latham today with a partner with initials TF from the SF/SV office, who basically told you everything there is to know about Latham's Corp practice? I slipped jokes in, here and there, and he was laughing or smiling the entire time.

At the end, when I wanted to say something about my transcript, he said he didn't even need to look at my transcript, but that might've been because he was interview me for a different office, so he figured he'd forward my materials to that office anyway. If so, what was the point of having him interview me?

Sorry - does not compute. Why would you want to say something about your transcript?

Regarding DC interviews:

A rising 3L here. I understand that the EIP period can be (extremely) trying. I got my first DC callback on the same day (after being invited to the post-interview dinner). Then the second one didn't arrive until one week after the screener. And other ones took even longer to roll in. Trust me, the wait was painful, embarrassing, discouraging, and massively humbling.

I want to encourage everyone to keep up hope. Everyone says that DC takes a while, which may or may not be true: I certainly had some friends who were also interviewing primarily DC who heard back a lot sooner than I did. My sense is that it really depends on the firm and also on the interviewer. Also, even if you are on some unofficial "waitlist" which may be why the firm is taking a while to notify you about CB/rejection, there is always a chance that you will get a CB later.

To note, EIP is not the only route! I actually did not interview with my current firm during EIP. Though the firm did participate in EIP, I didn't get a spot through lottery, so I sent in my resume + transcript to the firm's HR dept on my own initiative and that led me to an offer eventually. I am thankful that I also had other offers from EIP, which gave me options, but in the end, I chose this firm which was not a result of EIP (and I can say that it was a good choice).

Life is full of unexpected/unplanned turns. Some doors will open and some doors will close. So, don't despair if you don't immediately hear back regarding CBs. If you're anxious, try participating in resume collection and/or contacting other firms (the HR contacts are available on the NALP website) in the meanwhile. The sooner the better. I can attest that some of my friends also found opportunities this way.

Best wishes!

This is incredibly comforting. The amount of CB's I've already seen fly in to my friends in other markets, and a number in DC, is killing me. Radio silence is the worst.
