So I don't think mine was a regular interviewer...I didn't get Paul Hastings in the lottery, but I dropped by the hospitality suite and they squeezed me in. I think they just pulled one of the random free associates in. But initials were TS.Anonymous User wrote:Who was your interviewer???Paul Hastings CB this morning. They're still trickling in guys! Has there been much LA movement? Is it true that non-NY firms take longer? Usually how long is it?

I have 6 CBs - should I be sending mailings/trying to get more? OCS said I should just focus on what I have. Anyone have advice? I just don't want to be stuck in September if none of them turn into offers.

^ 6 CBs are fine unless you're not confident in your interviewing skills. mass mailing couldn't hurt but I think 6 is a fine number considering many people have less

If they are big NY firms you are likely fine (higher offer %). Smaller firms may have lower offer rates, but unless you are a really poor interviewer you should be OK.Anonymous User wrote:I have 6 CBs - should I be sending mailings/trying to get more? Massmailing everyone, or doing targeted mailings? How have you been going about it?Anonymous User wrote:been getting callbacks through mass mailing. if you're debating mass mailing, its worth it

Re: NYU EIW Madness 2015
I scored a CB in my home secondary market. Do I just ask the local biglaw firms if they can do straight to CB? I assume the one that gave me the CB is my "host firm" so they can snag a CB with me without cost or something. I don't mind staying at home to keep hotel costs down (seems to be the main sticking point when it comes to CB arrangements).

^^been applying directly to firms & specifying practice areas
ive been very specific in cover letters as to why that firm specifically. don't know for sure but I think they like that someone seems invested/interested especially at this point

I think for the most part that's true. But I have 9 from LA already (4 of them this week). Then again 90% of my screeners were LA

I think it was two weeks with less than two CBs should contact OCS immediately.

Doing a Skype screener this afternoon with a secondary market boutique, is it credited to suit up?

Re: NYU EIW Madness 2015
It's generally a slow ding. Doesn't mean that it won't happen, but big firms tend to do a pretty good job predicting their needs at certain schools. The biggest reason you may see more callbacks from the "waitlist" is that the economy is better, summer classes may be growing, so yields may go down across the board as students have more options than in past years (speculation based on the feeling I got from recruiting at my firm and others)Anonymous User wrote:Is no contact basically a ding if other people have gotten CBs?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
