Disappeared I think for all of us, from what I can tell frantically asking friends.

Maybe they fucked them up and have to redo them. Maybe that weird FFB 2 being got at 20's is legit and wasn't an isolated thing. That would be the best.

Hola guys! First post on TLS ever; long time creeper.

CLS transfer here, looking forward to meeting all of you.

Quick question: I got an interview with Cravath, and I'm wondering if y'all think it's worth it to accept. Now, I'm a go-getter and have the mentality that I should not pass anything up, but I'm also not one to take kindly to being insulted. Basically, I don't want to get the whole "why are you wasting our time interviewing here" spiel mentioned earlier.

Since I transferred from a T3 in NY, and went to a state school for undergrad, my resume is bolstered by CLS and my 2 years of work experience at a medium sized NYC corporate firm prior to starting law school.

What do you guys think? Should I just take the interview and do my best because I have nothing to lose, or forego the opportunity altogether.

P.S. I went 15/30 for EIP thanks to a lot of the info posted on this forum, so thanks guys.

Oh god no, just interview with Cravath that's fine. I'm assuming you were very high ranked in your 1L school class. I've heard that story about WLRK but that shouldn't scare anyone off interviewing with other less selective firms.

If you already bid, I'd err on the side of going for it. I don't think you'll get that particular spiel from Cravath, though you should be aware if your grades make you a long shot.

I think part of it will depend on how just good your grades were at your old school. Top 20% probably won't cut it, but higher might. For what it's worth, there are people summering at Cravath right now from Fordham, Cardozo, Brooklyn, and even 1-2 from St. John's. Some of the summers are transfers to CLS/NYU from Brooklyn.

Ok, thanks for confirming. I figured it was an urban legend horror story.

Thanks for the insight. They do participate in OCI at my old school, where I was top 5%, which is why I even bid on Cravath in the first place. I'll go for it since I have nothing to lose.

I mean, I'm sure it happened, but not at Cravath. Your Cravath interviewer will more likely spend 8-10 of the twenty minutes on the phone with a client.

Out of curiosity, anyone know of FFBs that went down at all? There was drastic (2-5) upwards movement across the board from what I could tell. Only NY offices. I get the feeling that bidding all NYC hurt me because i tried to get in as many as possible but missed almost everywhere I wasnt 4 over FFB and even there once.

The reason a FFB 2 might have been got in the 20's makes perfect sense. When they release FFB data, it encourages firms to jump 2 spots or so until they reach top 3. Once a firm has a FFB of 3 everyone will either a) bid them 1 or 2 or b) not bid them at all. So what happens is, eventually enough firms creep up to the top that it isn't sustainable. It isn't possible for 10 firms to have FFB at 1 or 2 (or 3). So one or two of those firms will drop DRAMATICALLY when people self-select out of bidding that firm. The problem is you won't know which one it is until after bidding. I think this will be the trend each of the next few years. So next year for example, Paul Hastings, or Debevoise, or Boies, or Proskauer, one will drop dramatically. My prediction is it will be a firm that has a lot of interview slots (potentially more than the year before) and is slightly more grade selective than the other firms.

Off the top of my head, Shearman and Sterling dropped from FFB of 2 to no FFB at all if the email we got of what firms likely can be added holds true.

What's a happy number of interviews to be at after the add period, i.e. how many can I reasonably cram into my schedule without being lost in a daze mistaking firms for each other?

You should be able to do 25-30 without trouble.

How does the adding process work? I assume we do it on symplicity but is there a special tab? Do we just click to reserve a spot or do we have to schedule it ourselves? Any info you guys could givè would be much appreciated!!!

There are instructions in the email from Shirien on how to add. Basically I think you go to the page where you bid and on the date they are interviewing there will be a gray box you can click if they have slots and a schedule will open up.

Also, I saw some firms on the attached list that I bid low but didn't get. I am wondering if they just assume a certain number of drops per firm and also how many people might try to add after that.

So I only had 11 before add/drop period and just added 10 more (up to 21). I'd like to get to 25, but it either appears I'm locked from adding more or all the spots were taken? Anyone have an idea about what's going on?

Which ones did you add? That's impressive...

Seems like the spots are going quick. My guess is they are taken.
