Just got 2 more CBs from DC firms so if you're looking at a secondary market, they're not done, they're just slow.

Thoughts on (men's) attire for tomorrows Ropes CB Reception? Normally would err on the side of conservative but it is at The Heights

eh, callbacks as a serious prospect seem deader than our childhood pets and our childhoods themselves, I think. so, looks like I may be part of the stagnant puddle of once fresh human swill the pigs have left in their trough, woe betide me.

Question: are thank you emails after callbacks recommended? I thought it went generally okay but there wasn't really a terribly strong connection there to warrant them. I really like the firm though. Could they be off-putting?

How does this keep coming up? In what world would one think an offer is going to turn on a thank you email? The recommendations will be made by the panel you interview with by the time you send a thank you. Even OCS says not to, because you just risk messing up the email.

Is it actually necessary to go to an optional callback drinks reception? Does it go against you (when firms decide whether to make you an offer) if you didn't go?

I thought the OCS was talking more in the screener context and figured callbacks could be a little different because the conversation was more in-depth and you learned more about the firm from the interviews.

King and Spaulding ding and White & Case ding. Four in one day. No callbacks, no responses from my 80+ mass mailers.

Well, I Knew I was taking a gamble with law school but I didn't realize I could strike out this badly.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
