3.8131 from above; thank you for the suggestions Lavitz. Additional suggestions would be welcomed!

My questions now are: 1) is there any way to drop a few elite firms but substantially increase my likelihood of getting more sceeners overall? (e.g., Latham?) 2) Is my bid list too ambitious for my GPA?

Revised List:

Day 1.

1. Latham 3.63 (3.45/3.88) 18
2. Gibson Dunn 3.80 (3.65/4.01) 20

15. Morrison & Foerster 3.58 (3.28/3.71) 20

Day 2. (dropped K&E because of their SA offer ratio and because my clerks told me to avoid that place like the plague)

1. Skadden 3.74 (3.43/4.01) 20
2. Paul Weiss 3.68 (3.24/4.01) 40
3. White & Case 3.57 (3.3.5/3.81) 40

You're not getting Shearman that low, and Wilmer and probably all of the elite firms beneath it can each go one spot lower, so you can take out Shearman and slide either Shearman, Jones Day or Akin into the #3 spot to get one more screener. I wouldn't bid Latham any lower than 1 this year. Or do you mean get rid of Latham entirely to get a higher chance of getting more screeners? I don't think dropping it and moving everything you have up is going to sbstantially increase your likelihood. As I said, you will likely get everything even if you knock 3 of them down one spot each.

This looks fine. You won't get Willkie that low, but you probably know that, and they're receptive to hospitality suite drops.

I don't think this is too ambitious for that GPA.

16. Stroock Stroock & Lavan 3.15 3.28 3.39 20/?

You won't get Cahill that low. Even Shearman is iffy. MoFo and FF could probably be flipped, but I also think you still have a good chance of getting MoFo at 3. Not sure why Schulte is taking up the 10 spot if you want litigation, but I guess it's wortha shot since I have no idea how low they can be. Davis Polk is probably doable a few spots up.

Tuesday

1. Paul, Weiss 3.24 3.68 4.01 40/128 14
2. Weil, Gotshal & Manges 3.24 3.57 3.91 40/46 9

17. K&L Gates 3.43 3.57 3.67 20/5 47
18. Kaye Scholer 3.24 3.35 3.48 20/14

Willkie is very likely too low. If you put it at 2 and pushed down Weil and White and Case, you could get all 3, but I'm not sure if you'd get Sidley that low, so you'd probably have to give up on that; I think you could still get Debevoise at 6, but I'm not sure. My sources now tell me that Debevoise has 40 slots, so I encourage all of you to double check.

When I upload my resume, should I describe the work I do for my current internship in present or past tense? Wondering whether firms will/are able to look at resumes before AJF, or whether they'll see my resume for the first time at AJF.

Update, thanks for the feedback Lavitz. 3.59, NYC, leaning towards litigation.

Am I reaching too high? For example, Debevoise (3.69) is a full point above me and Davis Polk on Monday is even higher (3.73). Should I ditch these?

Is it unlikely to get Weil at #3 and White and Case at #4? Do they both need to be ranked higher?

This is what I've been suggesting, so I hope not.

For day 2, which should go higher between White & Case and Wilkie Farr? I have them at 2 and 3 right now, but am thinking about flipping them because Wilkie came to campus this spring.

As Heise would say, flip it.

Past tense is preferable but it does not matter either way. Most firms are not going to look at your resume until the day of just b/c of volume reasons of seeing so many candidates in rapid succession.

13 slots. Hopefully I can round it out to 14 or 15 through open bidding. Not a bad haul though.

Got 15. Didn't get interviews with firms I thought I would but got some other interviews. Will definitely have to reach out to those misses.

Interesting, I thought it was weird that I didn't get Cahill at 5 but I guess it was really popular.

Career Services' advice that DE firms would be available at virtually any ranking was not credited. That said, I'm surprised there's more than 20 people in our class who are seriously considering Wilmington.

Re: Delaware firms.

I put them in my top ten ahead of firms that I'd rather work at but I didn't expect to get. I know several others who did the same.

I got a DE firm at 24. Listed it as more of a back-up though.

I know Dean DeRosa said that we should go to the hospitality suites of firms that we bid on but didn't get, but should we also reach out to them beforehand?
