Re: Northwestern OCI 2015
After our interviews are released and we attempt to contact the firms we bid on but didn't receive, may we attach a resume with our gpa in an attempt to pick up an extra screener?

Re: Northwestern OCI 2015
maybe a dumb question but i uploaded my resume and now im putting in my bids. there's nothing i need to click to confirm, right? I just need to put the right number next to the right firm and then by 3pm tomorrow it will effectively submit?
PLIP was a little different, so I wanted to ask to be sure

Correct...there's nothing you need to click and confirm. They're auto-saved. Just for a warm fuzzy, log out and back into Symplicity and click OCI. Your firms should appear in bid order when you scroll down.BaberhamLincoln wrote:maybe a dumb question but i uploaded my resume and now im putting in my bids. there's nothing i need to click to confirm, right? Why does the site give you an extra interview spot when you add different offices of the same firm that only allow you to bid on one office?

Thanks MT
Is it crazy to not use all your bids? I have 14 interviews at PLIP and waiting on hearing about my 1L SA - I feel like I'm just going to be bidding just for the sake of bidding (past spot 20)

I think 7 is a little much for Weil. Top 12 should be fine, 10 should be a near lock. As for the last few bids see my advice a few posts up about secondary markets.SA2014 wrote:move:helpappreciated wrote:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------moneyball026 wrote:helpappreciated wrote:3.00, URM, from California.

Impatient incoming 2L here. How long after tomorrow's deadline do we have to wait to find out which firms we get to interview with?

Interview schedules will be released on 8/3. Looking at last year's OCI thread it looks like they were released at noon last year.personofinterest wrote:Impatient incoming 2L here. How long after tomorrow's deadline do we have to wait to find out which firms we get to interview with?

just got an email about law review sponsors, asking us to consider bidding for them. i wasn't planning on bidding on any of the three mentioned (mayer brown, Debevoise, or gibson dunn) because my gpa (3.15) is way lower than the minimum on the callback data sheet. do you think it would be worthwhile to bid on them anyways? is there a special bump because they are our sponsors?

LR is a bump, but you have a very unique situation and I don't know if anyone is really going to be able to tell you what to do. There just aren't many data points with your GPA + LR. My gut tells me you should probably just bid like you are at median, but that's not based on anything substantive.Anonymous User wrote:just got an email about law review sponsors, asking us to consider bidding for them. i wasn't planning on bidding on any of the three mentioned (mayer brown, Debevoise, or gibson dunn) because my gpa (3.15) is way lower than the minimum on the callback data sheet. do you think it would be worthwhile to bid on them anyways? is there a special bump because they are our sponsors?

^i would agree with cobretti. FWIW, LR sponsors = marketing. they dont partner with LR at all.Cobretti wrote:LR is a bump, but you have a very unique situation and I don't know if anyone is really going to be able to tell you what to do. Anyone have an answer to this? I'm really curious why I get more than 40 interview slots when I do this, and how it gets handled by the system.furrrman wrote:Why does the site give you an extra interview spot when you add different offices of the same firm that only allow you to bid on one office?

great! thanks for your answers! I'm thinking that I'm just going to keep my bids the way they are haha if there is no extra boost for them being our sponsors (outside of the LR boost) then I don't think it's worthwhile to change my whole bid list at this point.moneyball026 wrote:^i would agree with cobretti.
