Simply, SO was offered an SA position at firm in big city A. Then she met me and I am currently working in big city B. She wants to work in big city B to live with me. She is currently doing the SA internship in big city A with the firm. That firm also has a much smaller office in big city B where I am(30 lawyers tops). It is awkward because she intends to not take a position in big city A (MAYBE 1 year only), but her mentor and other lawyers don't know about her plans to move to big city B with me. How should she best approach it?
Let her mentor/someone know that she wants to go to big city B and see what that office's availability is?
Not tell anyone during her SA internship, get the offer, and use the offer as leverage to try to find work elsewhere in Big city B?
Break up with me and take the biglaw job? (jk this is not an option...)

you should both recognize that there's a good chance you'll end up in a LDR

i know of several situations like this. best plan is for her to work hard and impress everyone, securing the offer she has in City A. then she can ask if its ok to start in City B instead or possibly try 3L OCI.
