No one gains anything from being rude to each other on here. Represent Michigan well.

Also, it's odd to bill a firm for in flight wifi. There's no real reason you need access to it. But I would hold off on sending in for reimbursement until after you get an offer or not to avoid any impact.
One issue I am running into with mass-mailing/trying to make connections post-OCI is that the substantial majority of good firms in areas I have ties to already came to OCI. Is it kosher or effective to contact firms who came to OCI but that I did not bid on?
Also wondering this. I had a lot of interviews and I didn't get to everyone. I'm not doing badly but there are a couple of what might have beens that I wouldn't mind talking to.

Got dinged at Morgan Lewis. Here's the kicker, I didn't interview with them. Wtf, talk about a spirit breaker.

Sorry if this is a weird question, but do snail mail rejection letters typically go to your campus address or your permanent address (if they are different)?

Does anyone know if we will be getting ding letters from every firm? I'd like to keep the belief that I'm on a waiting list at some of these places incase their current CBs strike out.

I believe that last year, there were one or two firms that did send out a second round of CB invites a week or two after the first round went out. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Does it matter? Isn't the lottery completely random and not based on GPA? Just wondering if I misunderstood how the lottery works... :?

what are you trying to tell us? that you didn't get screeners bidding those firms at that number? or that you got screeners and didn't get callbacks?

That I didn't get screeners through the bidding process with that ranking. Just thought it might help someone out next year.

Just remember that a ding can just as easily mean that they liked you but aren't hiring in the specific area that you expressed interest in. You will all have amazing careers.

That's helpful regardless of your GPA, but it isn't "striking out."

Offers are going to usually come by phone from a partner--usually someone you interviewed with. Firms may not get back to people consistently. It might take 24 hours one day and a week the next. It depends on who is available and when the committee or whoever makes the decision meets. Don't freak out, just keep working to find a job until to have one.

As for the if I didn't bid on them for OCI, is it odd to ask for an interview now: NO!

Firms might look at who bid on them, but that's not a reason to avoid trying to get a job somewhere (failures cost you little; one success is worth a lot). I also want to strongly recommend that those of you lacking CBs look beyond the big firms that everyone knows about (not over them, because you should try to get an interview with them as well). But especially in cities like New York or Chicago, there are lots of smaller firms that might take someone for the summer. The pay may or may not be market, but the potential to do really interesting and profitable work does not stop with the Am Law whatever. Find controversial people who've needed good lawyers to represent them recently and look at who they're using. Or go on the small and midsize firm list.

A year ago, most of you guys didn't know what the V50 was, and you didn't think practicing law required you to work at Cravath (this is at least true for anyone I would ever want to hire). So don't go crazy because SRZ hasn't gotten back to you as quickly as you hoped or because someone else has snagged a summer spot and now thinks they've got their life figured out. Broaden your search; use your resources; play to your strengths. It'll work out.

Edit: I was wrong; firms can see who bid on them, I guess.

But if 2 people who had SRZ callbacks the same day and one hears back with an offer the next day. does it mean the other is not getting an offer?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
