Paranoid

I am a 1L, and I applied for a summer gig at a wills and estate law firm. They were looking to publish an online blog about wills, and instructions the public can follow to navigate through this difficult area of law. I sent my materials to the firm's partner and got a response asking if I was familiar with WordPress. I responded: "yes, I believe WordPress is one of the blogging platforms that is fairly easy to navigate. Also, per the posting, I am familiar with social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. Thank you!" I haven't gotten an e-mail yet asking me to come in or anything. Did I insult the firm somehow saying WordPress is easy? I am paranoid.

How long ago did this happen?

Chances are you are being paranoid. Firms are always busy and summer people are often low priority

It was yesterday lol but the partner replied like instantly to my initial e-mail. I will wait . . . . But what I said wasn't presumptuous or offensive right?

You're fine

You're probably just not a priority, give them time to respond

Holy shit calm down. A partner's world doesn't revolve around answering your email.

It's been a week now. The job is said to start in May. Should I wait until later this week to ask if they've culled potential candidates already?

I would think you could do a polite follow up email now if you would like

I don't think you got this job, but I also don't think it was because of your email.

I do think it sounds like they were looking for someone with experience with WordPress, not someone who has heard of it, which sounds like your situation.
