Should I go to this networking event?

I'll be a summer associate at a BigLaw firm in major market. However, just got an email from my school letting me know about a networking event being held at another BigLaw firm in the same market. I specifically know of attorneys at the firm I'll be summering at that have previously worked at this firm hosting the event. Should I go? The networking never stops right? Or would it be weird, especially if news got back to my firm I'll be summering at.
