Have an idea of what the different divisions do, for starters.

Be able to show an interest in the SEC or in finance, hopefully based on some past experience.

FWIW - I think some of the smaller departments (ie. not enforcement) can give you a really great and personal summer. Especially if you might not be interested in litigation.

Interviewed at a regional office earlier this year. They asked "Why SEC?" but the rest of the interview was very informal and most just extended small talk/resume specific questions. Make sure to have a few questions to ask them.
