Re: Philadelphia Market
Heard from people at both MLB and DM that they raised to $155k not long after Dechert bumped to $160k. But haven't seen anything online to verify that, and figured that kind of news would have gotten out at this point.

Would be very interested to see if this group moves up. Would there be a good chance that they at least move up within a couple of years?aep11 wrote:Likely that MLB and probably DM will match.
Interesting to see if Blank/Pepper/Ballard/Drinker move at all before recruiting season starts.

Re: Philadelphia Market
Vault is listing Pepper Hamilton at $150k for Philly, but I'm thinking this is a mistake (contradicts NALP, but also lists SA pay as $2700/wk which would correlate with $140k): http://www.vault.com/company-profiles/l ... rview.aspx

How is the Philly market for small firms doing family law/immigration? How about public interest (specifically legal aid)? Not interested in BigLaw in the slightest.

Anyone have any experience for what medianish at CCN looks like with super strong philly ties? I'm already mass mailing so i'm more looking for assurance as anything anyone says won't change how I act. I'm kinda worried they'll wonder why I just didn't go to penn.

Dechert, Morgan, Pepper Hamilton, and Drinker are all now $160k, it just hasn't been publicized yet. Wouldn't be surprised if there were others (Blank, Ballard) but have yet to hear.

Pepper at 150k: https://www.nalpdirectory.com/employer_ ... #collapse1
Drinker at 160k: http://www.nalpdirectory.com/employer_p ... hCondJSON=
Morgan at 160k: http://www.nalpdirectory.com/employer_p ... hCondJSON=
Baker Hostetler at 150k: http://www.nalpdirectory.com/employer_p ... hCondJSON=
Akin Gump at 160k: http://www.nalpdirectory.com/employer_p ... ndJSON=%7B
Dechert at 160k: http://www.nalpdirectory.com/employer_p ... hCondJSON=
Also, DLA Piper is at 160k in Philly, and Reed Smith is at 145k. No word form Cozen (135k), Blank Rome (140k), or Ballard (135k). I heard a rumor that Duane has gone to 160k but I haven't seen anything to confirm that.

Why aren't firms making big announcements about these raises? Especially considering we're going into OCI.

If you are serious about working in Philly, you will interview with nearly all these firms. If starting salary is a selling point, firms will make that known to you.scottidsntknow wrote:Why aren't firms making big announcements about these raises? Especially considering we're going into OCI.

Yeah isn't salary also something you'd save to discuss when you're choosing between offers?Danger Zone wrote:I interviewed with all of the Philly firms and NONE of them brought up salary.Anonymous User wrote:If you are serious about working in Philly, you will interview with nearly all these firms. Re: Philadelphia Market
Anyone know anything about DLA Piper's summer program in Philly? I can't find any info on NALP or their website really, but they have a posting for Philadelphia SA applications on their career site. Really just looking for information on how many they have hired in past summers/how many they anticipate this year.

Re: Philadelphia Market
Sorry, what I meant is that the starting salary information won't be a secret, and that by OCI, most firms will have updated NALP or their websites. It's not going to come up during interviews unless you ask about it, which I strongly discourage doing.Danger Zone wrote:I interviewed with all of the Philly firms and NONE of them brought up salary.Anonymous User wrote:If you are serious about working in Philly, you will interview with nearly all these firms.
