There are not much difference in those three choices. Maybe A sounds slightly better than the other two.

1Ls: stop these threads. Seriously. If your goal is big law it literally does not matter in the slightest what you do 1L summer as long as it is legal related. I know you want to brag to your 1L friends how prestigious your 1L job is, but you're gonna feel like a real idiot when your Research Assistant friend with top 10% grades just destroys OCI. I know it's hard to believe but it is the absolute truth. If one sounds particularly interesting to you do that one, if you are indifferent pick the one that pays the most

Does one pay? Is one in a city you want to work in?

All pay ~ $20 / hour. All are in the same major market city where I want to work. (Well, the in-house one is in a satellite city that would be a long commute).

Then I'd just go with your gut. I guess the union one sounds like it has less potential to get you good experience than the other two, but it's tough to tell without knowing more. Do what you're interested in seems like a pretty good move here.

Also, nice. $20/hour is not bad for a 1L summer.

Pick the one that 1. Seems the most fun and 2. gives you the best legal experience. None of these are going to be very different unless one is an office that routinely hires interns and you would want to work there.

Thanks for all your insights (even uvheylaw). I ended up picking choice 1. I think it will be the most relevant and interesting. Best of luck to all the other 1L's still looking for work.
