Last year we got an email on June 23rd, had two days to cancel interviews.

Final schedules were set on the 25th.

Pretty sure they have it listed on the official schedule on the PLIP website.

Anyone have an opinion on whether it's worth going if I have four alternates and no preselects? One of them I'm ranked 1 so I'm hoping that will turn into a preselect before the end of the week...

Low numbers usually get you interviews.

Why did you get so few? Because your tech background is really week despite ur good grades from a good school? You can skip and still work dat OCI.

If it's because you are a marginal candidate in general, you gotta go.

3L, medianish grades (~3.35) at a T14 school, life sciences UG. Not sure I can count on OCI given my class year.

Do you have an SA? You gotta go if for no other reason to ham and egg it at the hospitality suites if you don't have something lined up after.

Anyone have any experience interviewing for Latham's Tech Transfer practice?

Would be interviewing as a 3L.

5 pre-selects, above median Vandy. Anyone know how likely it is to get off a waitlist if you're on the 1-3 slots?

12 preselects. 3 alternates. Top 15% Maurer. Holy shit am I stoked. Does anyone know how many 2ls the Chicago office of Kirkland Ellis got from Loyola last year. They had 42 interns total.

I got dinged by a few firms that will be at OCI. So the general question that applies to anyone is, should I take this into consideration when bidding at OCI? Or are there too many reasons that a firm might not preselect someone to take that into account?

If you should consider a ding when bidding in OCI, how much of a GPA jump is sufficient to be viewed as a different candidate? In other words, an employer will probably look at a resume with a 3.7 very differently than the same resume with a 3.2. But will likely look at a 3.45 the same as a 3.4. So how much of a change actually makes a difference.

[[My GPA improved by 0.3, but there are other things on my resume that could be turning off employers. So I'm not sure if I should consider myself a new candidate or not. - Perhaps I'm just struggling with rejection.]]

I think many firms will reject those who they will see at OCI. That seemed to be a trend with my results as well. The theory goes that they want to see candidates from schools that they won't be visiting, so I would still bid those firms at OCI.

I don't think a .05 difference in GPA makes a difference. A variance of .05 is probably well within any margin of error associated with GPA determinations. It may hurt/help you if a firm has a hard GPA cutoff, but since those are well-guarded secrets, it shouldn't affect your calculus. I think a .10 difference is of debatable value, a .20 difference is noticeable, and a .30 difference is significant.

4 pre selects and 4 alternates. 4.0 at a Tier3. No engineering or science background. Withdrawing from the program, dont want patent law. Have other prospects lined up. Good luck to all.

9 pre-selects and 1 alternate. 3L, EE, TTT/top 30%, 2L SA at IP boutique, patent-barred.

I got more pre-selects than I thought as a 3L with my school/grades but I think I'm going to withdraw from the program. It appears I'm going to get an offer from my summer firm and I like it a lot so far. Don't really want to take 3 days off during my SA to potentially jeopardize my current good chance at a job for a moderate/small chance at something else that I probably wouldn't like as much.

Good luck to everyone! Hope some of you pick up slots I'm cancelling.

Can anyone speak to how the QE screener operates since they primarily go directly to cb?

If you like your current firm, you'll almost definitely be getting an offer. But they're not going to frown upon you interviewing at PLIP either. I would keep your registration active and then cancel last minute if you're sure by then.
