negotiating law clerk summer salary

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Feb 27, 2015 12:38 am

I live in a flyover state in a smaller city. What salary can I expect from the following types of firms for a 2L summer law clerk position: solo, 3 attorney firm, 10 attorney firm, 50 attorney firm.

These questions are truly unanswerable with any real certainty. It will vary widely from firm to firm, even with a particular market.

Thanks. Most of my offers have been around 12, as low as 10, and high as 15 so sounds about right.

FWIW, last summer I got $15/hr from a solo practitioner in Beverly Hills as a 1L. I think you can definitely do better than $10-12/hour if you're a decent negotiator.
