Post by Desert Fox » Thu Feb 26, 2015 2:02 pm

Doesn't seem surprising. 1) A lot of day-to-day operations in large businesses involve corporate law issues somehow (e.g. contract drafting, compliance) vs. the relative rarity of lawsuits. 2) Because suits are relatively exceptional occurrences for most corps, it's easier (and more effective) to outsource lit representation.

Also, the majority of corporate legal work--governance, contract drafting, regulatory compliance, HR--doesn't require the use of costly outside firms and can be done more cheaply (and, often, better) by in-house counsel.
